Freewheel one way clutch with lift off sprag type which are assembled in a cage assembly and connected with the inner race, rotate with the inner race. The centrifugal force is applied in the center of gravity of the sprag turns the sprag and rests against the cage plate of the cage assembly. This results in the gap a between the sprag and the outer track; works without contact. If the inner race speed decreases to such an extent that the effect of the centrifugal force on the sprag is less than that of the spring force , the sprag again rests on the outer race and the freewheel is ready to engage/lock. SPRAG CLUTCH

Working Principle:
